French flower making

Skill level: No experience necessary
Make a beautiful silk cabbage rose, learning
stiffening and traditional tooling techniques along the way. You will
discover all the ways in which silk flowers can be used to liven up any
headpiece or accessory.
If you are making your own outfit for the races, bring in the fabric
scraps and turn it into a lovely flower that you can wear in your hair.
What you will learn:
- How to cut, shape and assemble a cabbage rose flower
- What are flower tools and how to use them
- What materials are suitable for flower making
- How to prepare materials using a variety stiffening techniques
- New ideas on how to use French flowers
- How to add a flower to a headpiece, comb, clip or hat
- How to maintain a safe working environment
