Come and celebrate Melbourne Spring Fashion Week with Torb and Reiner, and let the world of hats take you to places you’ve never been before.
Whether you want to learn about hats, make hats, or just love hats, these events
are for you.
The milliners at Torb and Reiner will be on hand for the whole week to educate you on all things millinery. Learn from the experts and participate in a hands-on workshop or just come along to pick up some quick tips and tricks.
World renowned milliner Waltraud Reiner will be teaching her famous shaping with cobweb Sinamay. Book a feather workshop and learn the techniques milliners use to create wonderful French flowers.
There is something for everyone no matter if you’re a beginner the outcome will be a professional looking head piece
through the committed guidance of the people at Torb and Reiner.

Workshop: It is the trimming that makes the hat
Where: Whitehouse Institute of Design,

This is a Workshop for people who would like to know the trends in Millinery
and how to trim your hats well for this season.
You will work with Jinsin, feathers, crinoline.
It will give you the skills to make a small head piece.
Make Lillies and leaves from Sinamay.

This is a Workshop for people who already have experience with hat making.
We will only learn technique in this workshop and not finish the hat.
You will learn how to shape the cobweb Sinamay onto hat blocks and how to combine the material with Sinamay.

Flowers have great healing powers within their colours and their shapes.
Once apon a time they had their own language of love and were used as such.
This workshop will let you use the skill of flower making to enhance your skill
as a milliner and bring joy into your life.
You will learn how to make a rose or a chrysanthemum which can be used for hats, head pieces, corsages or just purely decorative.

Do you know how feathers are cut, curled and shaped??
Well...you will after you have done this workshop.
