“It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come.” ~ Dalai Lama
This affirmation seems useful in my daily life and especially around this time of the year when Xmas and Chanukah become celebrations in many people’s houses. There is a sense of tiredness and senseless rush this time of the year as we build-up towards Xmas. I like it to be a time for sharing, connecting and reaching out to others.
It’s also the season celebrating light. When I light candles, I metaphorically light the first candle for my own spirit to keep burning the light within, which will in turn have the ability to light someone else’s light.
2015 has been a fast, creative, productive and challenging year. I am reminded to look back at achievements which need celebrating and situations which went wrong, to learn from them and use them as new opportunities. The Little Hat project has been a great success again, Hatwalk is well on its way, we introduced new products into the store and the Hatmobile drove close to 20000 km around Australia this year.
Many people once again have been part of producing an amazing book called ‘Brainstorm’ which no doubt will do its part and touch lives out there we might never know about. Thank you all for making it happen.
2014 was very good to us. It brought new friends and clients and also allowed for tears to grieve losses. My own mortality has been challenged, as I had to say good-bye to people who passed over and others who are in the last stage of life. Death makes me reflect and forces a pause upon me. It reminds me to ‘die’ to each moment, to love and live each moment, while being reminded that ‘this moment’ will not come again.
Looking back on the year I personally feel a sense of achievement, a feeling of gratitude, as well as a great deal of tiredness. So as I prepare for my Xmas break saying good bye to 2014, I also know in my heart that what’s ahead in 2015 is exciting; 365 days of opportunity awaits. I mindfully will listen to my heart to make those 365 days as meaningful as I can.
I wish for you all out there a wonderful celebration with friends and family as you celebrate the festival of lights. I also wish for you to share food and meaningful time with your friends and family.
I thank you for all the support you have given to us at Torb and Reiner and myself personally. Warm thoughts and wishes from all of us here at Torb and Reiner look forward seeing you in 2015.
Merry Xmas, happy Chanukah and Happy New Year!
