Do you have a treasured vintage hat you'd love to wear if only you knew how to the minor repairs it needs? Now is your chance! Come along to this short workshop, get some advice and get started.
What we will teach?
This class will be specific to the hats that come in. But some examples of what we might talk about are: Veiling (how to remove and replace), basic reshaping, replacing trims, hiding holes or stains etc.
What you will need?
A hat that needs some attention. If you have more than one feel free to bring them but we may not have time for more than on in this session.
In addition you will most likely need some basic millinery equipment. Most of these things are available for purchase at the shop if you don't have them.
- Fabric scissors (roughly 8in)
- Small embroidery scissors or thread cutters (pointy)
- Sewing pins
- Tape measure
- Thread - Gutermann (or good quality. Not overlocking thread) to match/co-ordinate with your project.
- An apron (if you desire)
Materials you may need to fix your hat or add extra trims. Torb and Reiner have a large range of items you may need so don't worry if you don't.
Places are strictly limited - don't miss out!
